STRESS often triggers health problems. Yet becoming anxious or depressed only makes things worse. While you cannot change the fact that stress is everywhere, you can learn to respond skillfully to life's challenges and maintain your equilibrium.
During this three-hour workshop, which is one of our focused stress management workshops, you will learn about stress and its impacts, the stress cycle, and the relaxation response. Key stress management techniques, including various meditation techniques, will be outlined. We will highlight the physiological, psychological, and spiritual benefits of regularly eliciting the relaxation response.
This training is designed to empower you to include stress management and relaxation skills, such as those learned in yoga classes, as part of your life and work. You will discover several techniques to elicit the relaxation response, including breathing techniques, muscle relaxation, meditation/prayer, and mindfulness.
You will also be offered the opportunity to use thermal and/or electrodermal biofeedback instruments during training. These biofeedback instruments increase awareness of internal changes and enhance the development of relaxation skills.
For over forty-five years, I have successfully taught relaxation techniques to hundreds of individuals of all ages and have conducted numerous workshops in a variety of settings. Experience has taught me that, from the myriad of relaxation techniques available, everyone can learn to relax.
